01 / WHERE IT BEGAN

Some things are worth rediscovering.

“I became curious about the ingredients people relied on long before skincare became so complicated.”

That curiosity took me back to familiar fats, plant oils, waxes, herbs and botanicals. I started learning about them, experimenting with formulas at home, and discovering just how enjoyable it was to create something useful with my own hands.

Tallow became the foundation of my first balms. From preparing the fat through to finding the right texture, there was something satisfying about every part of the process. The Tallow & Thyme Company grew from there.

I believe the best products begin with a good reason for every ingredient. I love working with tallow, jojoba, beeswax and selected botanicals, choosing each element for the way it contributes to a formula — its texture, scent or feel on the skin.

It's not about chasing complicated ingredient lists. It's about finding the balance that makes a product lovely to use, again and again.

There's a person behind every jar.

Here in South Devon, I work in small batches, preparing ingredients, making the products, and filling and finishing each jar and tin myself. It's hands-on work, and that's exactly what I enjoy about it.

Traditional tallow skincare will always be part of our story. But my love of botanicals goes further than balms: I'm gradually exploring thoughtful body, hair and everyday wellbeing products too.

The collection may grow, but the approach won't change. I want to keep making things that are useful, beautifully considered and a pleasure to have in your everyday routine.
